FX Trading Venue Frontend Development Manager

Shape the architecture of robust and scalable frontend and backend systems that power critical financial applications on a multi dealer FX Platform.
Be the frontend architect on one of the most powerful multi dealer platform used for FX trading.
Utilise your expertise in front end programming to design and develop high-performance, low latency frontend experience.
Utilise your experience to choose the patterns, libraries, workflows and layout some strategic design patterns/principles for the team
Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge solution that meet the evolving needs of the financial industry.
Manage the velocity of the team by assigning stories and issues to team members based on their expertise.
Participate in architecture discussions and requirement elaborations.
Qualifications/Requirements
Domain knowledge
At least a general understanding of trading systems and the design complexities.
Technology
Proven experience as a Java backend developer, with at least 15 years in a senior development role, focus on trading systems design and development preferably with an exchange, multi-dealer fx platform or a top tier bank.
Strong proficiency in modern Java, NodeJS (Typescript and Javascript) and React technology.
Strong understanding of Redux/Other State Management frameworks
Expertise in utilising Web sockets & shared workers for data delivery from the backend to the UI screens
Good understanding and experience in UI build process including tools like webpack, bower, minification process etc
Preferably have some exposure to Openfin platform integration
Good understanding of Dockers/Kubernetes would be preferred
Confident with Linux, including shell scripting

Understands Agile process and metrics related to monitor the team.
Excellent at automating processes and recognising potential improvement in processes.
Attitude
Strong communication skills with ability to articulate technical design, issues, choices etc to both technical and non-technical audience.
Go getter Attitude and ability to balance quick iterative development with parallel elaboration on requirements

Can dive into the detail when needed to tackle problems and can also ask the right questions to complete the picture.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present sophisticated subjects clearly and to make them accessible to others.
Produce detailed, unambiguous user stories so that developers and QA are working with the same understanding.
Ability to clearly articulate non-functional requirements e.g. response time, throughput, resilience; experience with low latency, high availability platforms would be helpful.
Partnering with global teams including Product, Architecture and Development are key to this role.
