The Role


Our QA services have been growing rapidly over the years at Seven Peaks Software and it has been trusted by many renowned corporations, startups and industry leaders locally, and abroad.


To support our growth, and expanding teams, we are looking for a Head of Quality Assurance with a passion for people development, process excellence and technical expertise development.As the Head of QA, you will be in the driving seat to lead our teams to create remarkable applications for our global clients.


The Head of QA takes ownership of the department’s strategy, performance, and processes as well as all aspects of managing the people in the department. As the leader of the quality assurance department, the Head of Quality Assurance will coordinate closely with other departments in software engineering as well as other internal departments on all matters relating to the quality of the software products produced by Seven Peaks Software.


The Responsibilities

Strategy
  • Responsible for the development of the QA strategy, methodology, discipline, and framework.
Department
  • Responsible for leading, directing and ultimately growing the QA department, ensuring the correct mix of knowledge and experience to deliver a market-leading service.
  • Be an escalation point for all matters related to testing and quality assurance and operate as a primary point of contact for the QA department.
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise across all Test Automation and Quality Assurance aspects.
  • Provide clear direction, mentoring for skills enhancement and career development for all members of the QA department.
  • Responsible for a complete employee life cycle, including but not limited to:
  • Hiring the right people into the department
  • Make sure the new employees are onboarding into the department in a way that makes them feel instantly part of the team and at home in Seven Peaks
  • Perform probation reviews and make appropriate decisions based on the probation review
  • Make sure all employees have a development plan and can see their career path
  • Perform formal appraisals every year
  • Have regular 1:1 with all employees to make sure employees feel seen and cared for
  • Be responsible for building and nurturing a good culture and relationship in the department.
  • Ensure that employees are optimally productive (billable hours) according to Software Engineering guidelines and company KPIs.
  • Provide input for staff allocation to projects and engagements according to their skill level.


Process

  • Focus on continuous QA improvements including the use of appropriate testing tools, test techniques and test automation.
  • Monitor all the QA activities, test results, leaked defects, root cause analysis and identifying areas of improvement. Implement steps required to improve the processes.
  • Build and maintain quality standards and enforce technical and testing standards.
  • Establish and maintain quality metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of our QA processes.


EngineeringWork with other department leaders to:

  • Develop and execute QA strategies to meet and exceed department and corporate quality goals.
  • Ensure projects delivered are of the highest quality.
  • Ensure that the engineering teams adhere to the principles, guidelines, and best practices of the QA strategy as defined.
  • Ensure that Seven Peaks Software delivers outstanding quality and efficiency in our products.


External focus

  • Provide technical leadership and expertise within the field of Quality Assurance and Testing, be a Thought Leader in the industry as a whole and drive engagement with the market via articles, events and meetups.


Business Development

  • Participate in technical pre-sales with the main focus on advising the correct QA services to the customer.
  • Contribute to marketing content/material for service promotion.
