JOB SUMMARY

Siam Piwat Digital is building a tech team to expand our new OneSiam SuperApp business. We are looking for Backend Team Leads, who are passionate about performance, scalability, reliability, and design in software development with extensive technical knowledge and experience in backend technologies, to drive our next generation features across our new digital business platform. Backend Team Lead must take ownership and pride in their work for building applications in digital platform environment with high quality standard within the committed delivery timeline and leading backend developers to build the successful working team. The ideal candidates for this role should demonstrate solid software engineering principles, ability to mentor junior and senior developers, manage backend development team(s), and work with excellent communication, self-management, and problem-solving skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop business logic, frameworks, and APIs to create new features and enhance existing ones using one or more backend programming languages such as Java, Scala, Go, and NodeJS.
• Write clean, scalable, maintainable, and well-structured codes for backend applications and services.
• Deliver consistently high-quality work products with high test coverage on time as planned.
• Work closely and partner with Head of Engineering and Product Owner to size and break down requirements for new features and improvements.
• Use CI/CD tools to automate the working process in software development and deployment.
• Collaborate with team members effectively, conduct code reviews, and knowledge sharing regularly.
• Inspire team members to strive for improvement of their skills with passion in building our business platform and products.
• Manage and lead backend development team(s) to achieve the division’s goals and build up a productive team culture.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Education and Experience:

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Senior Backend developer or similar role.
• At least 1 year of experience as Backend developer lead or similar role.
• At least 4 years of experience in software development using any programming languages such as Java, Scala, Go, and NodeJS.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Extensive experience in using Java, Scala, Go, and NodeJS with web frameworks for building web services.
• Experience in using standard and open-source libraries as unit and integration testing tools.
• Experience in any open-source projects is a big plus.
• Strong understanding of API design, OOP, design patterns, and clean architecture.
• Strong understanding of server-side application development, and microservice architecture.
• Experience in using Messaging Queue / Kafka and event-driven architecture design.
• Experience in working with both SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
• Experience in using version control systems and source code management tools.
• Experience in using and building CI/CD pipeline and workflow.
• Experience in Docker and Kubernetes on cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of online security practices and protocols is a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile software development and methodology.
• Ability to see and explain the big picture of the implementation progress.
• Excellent communication and people management skills
• Exceptional problem solving, troubleshooting, analytical and logical thinking skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work smoothly across functions and coach the team members.
