Associate Manager - API Integration Consulting


Purpose of the Role:

As a Associate Manager of the APAC API Consulting Services team, you play an important role in guiding and empowering a team of experts who provide high-value consultancy and support to customers integrating Amadeus API products (Web Services, JSON/REST, NDC). Your mission is to ensure seamless API adoption by:

  • Guiding the team in handling complex API integration cases, providing expert guidance and troubleshooting.
  • Advising customers on best practices and technical solutions for integrating Amadeus systems with their own.
  • Ensuring functional support and problem resolution throughout the API integration journey.
  • Collaborating with Product Management and R&D to enhance solution serviceability and improve the customer experience.
  • While the team primarily supports APAC customers, it also frequently engages with customers from other regions, contributing to global integration success.


Main Responsibilities:

  • For the Incumbent:
  • Cultivate a thriving and engaging team environment, prioritizing professional development and ensuring continuous engagement through personalized growth strategies.
  • Strategically manage and communicate team capacity, ensuring alignment with project demands and organizational objectives while maintaining flexibility to adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Manage escalations, providing timely resolutions, and ensuring complex challenges are addressed with strategic precision.
  • Effectively manage turnover, implementing seamless strategies for workforce transition and ensuring uninterrupted service delivery, maintaining business continuity at all times.
  • Ensure the identification, proposal, and implementation of internal process improvements, enhancing operational efficiency and fostering a culture of continuous enhancement.
  • Identify and recommend advanced tools for process automation.
  • Oversee the recruitment process for new consultants, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience and timely integration of talent to meet the evolving needs of the team.
  • Enhance API-level working methods and guide global initiatives.
  • Operate independently, even in complex scenarios.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for API-related inquiries in the APAC region.
  • Provide comprehensive activity reports to management, proactively identifying and raising potential risks, while managing local issues with independent, informed judgment.
  • For the Team:
  • Offer strategic advice and consultancy to customers on seamless integration between Amadeus systems and their internal systems, ensuring optimal alignment with business objectives.
  • Foster the adoption of Amadeus products by delivering high-level guidance and ensuring customers receive the necessary support for successful implementation.
  • Empower customers to maximize the full potential of Amadeus products and solutions, ensuring they derive maximum value.
  • Proactively identify, prioritize, and address critical issues, problems, and root causes to drive timely resolution.
  • Recognize and capitalize on opportunities for upsell activities, particularly in consulting and optimization services.
  • Collaborate in the creation of user stories, ensuring alignment with predefined high-level serviceability requirements to drive efficiency and innovation.
  • Participate in the validation of serviceability deliveries within the feature team to guarantee that deliverables meet the highest standards.
  • Facilitate the transfer of knowledge within the API community, ensuring seamless sharing of best practices and technical expertise.


Relevant Experience:

  • Extensive experience in API consulting, integration, or a similar technical role.

  • Proven management experience leading technical consulting or integration teams.

  • Experience working in a global or multi-regional environment, particularly in the APAC market.

  • Knowledge of travel technology and the airline/hospitality industry is a must.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering professional growth and engagement.
  • Strong strategic planning and resource management skills to align team capacity with business priorities.
  • Experience in handling escalations and resolving complex technical and operational challenges.
  • Ability to manage team turnover and succession planning, ensuring business continuity.
  • Experience in driving process improvements and identifying automation opportunities.
