Communications Coordinator

Who You'll Work With

You will join a dynamic group of communications professionals within the firm’s Reach and Engagement function in Asia. These colleagues help ensure that appropriate insights reach designated audiences, building awareness and engagement with McKinsey’s distinctive knowledge on a variety of topics. They shape the way the firm connects with people, from clients to employees to alumni, strengthening institutional relationships, connections, and affiliations.
Your role will involve collaborating with seasoned communications professionals to support content delivery via a regional omni-channel communications platform, as well as facilitate events, publications and regional programs.


What You'll Do

You will leverage a range of skills such as writing, attention to detail, research, managing communications tools, project management, and self-motivation to elevate the firm’s communications, showcase the firm’s knowledge and assets, and protect the firm’s reputation across channels, platforms, and stakeholders.
In terms of creating effective communications, you will support coordination with a range of stakeholders across and outside the firm to deliver an omni-channel content platform for Asia, ensuring consistent and effective messaging across all digital and traditional platforms.
You will assist in crafting clear, structured and engaging content for various communication channels, such as memos, emails, newsletters, blogs, op-eds, and social media posts. When appropriate, you will utilize AI tools to enhance content quality while ensuring strict adherence to ethical and compliance guidelines. You will ensure the content rigorously follows conventions of written English and follows branding guidelines.
You will support the planning and coordination of external/internal firm events (e.g., conferences, forums, webinars, roundtables) and communications around events, ensuring alignment with the firm’s strategic goals and aligning with firm leadership when necessary.
You will support the team in delivering the Regional Leader’s executive program and priorities, including internal engagement programs and executive presence.
You will stay up to date on latest thought leadership and relevant industry content and insights, and ensure they are built into messaging strategically.
You will monitor media channels to stay up to date on relevant news and features that impact or reference the firm. You will perform relevant quality and risk reviews of communications, proactively identifying and raising risks with colleagues, and suggesting potential courses of action.
You will contribute to relevant data tracking within operations, to assess the effectiveness of communications and suggest improvements.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/university degree required
  • 3+ years of experience in a business communications-related field, a benefit if in a professional services environment, corporate communications role, government, or communications agency background
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and firm related tools (Zoom, Box, Slack, Writer)
  • Proficiency and fluency in verbal and written English is required
  • Broad skillset across relevant communication service lines and platforms (e.g., external/internal comms, media relations, events, executive comms)
  • Effective communication skills and attention to detail across formats (e.g., written, verbal/presentation, digital-ready content)
  • Able to work independently and entrepreneurially and see projects through end to end, and an aptitude for managing and prioritizing deadlines
  • Able to influence and direct colleagues, and manage needs of different stakeholders (including relevant senior leaders)
  • Able to collaborate well in teams and receive and provide feedback
  • Shows resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Exhibits core firm values in attitude and work (e.g., owning development, driving work, demonstrating resilience)
