Job Description
- Work on the campaign from the outset, managing details about the client, product, target audience, and required advertising message
- Work closely with the copywriter to generate creative ideas and concepts to fulfill the client's brief
- Produce sketches or 'storyboards' (television), or 'roughs' or 'scamps' (print) to communicate ideas to the client
- Gain an understanding of the target audience and business that the advert is aimed at
- Meet with the creative director and account managers before presenting ideas to clients
- Pitch ideas to clients
- Brief other members of the creative team
- Commission photographers, artists, or film-makers to work on projects
- Visit and assess locations for potential shoots
- Attend meetings at production houses and with other directors
- Work in editing suites to oversee the finished product
- Advise new creatives, review their books, and manage new teams on placement with the agency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an art, fine arts or design
- 3- 5 years of experience as an art director or creative director
- Background in Keynote, Google Suite, Powerpoint, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, Premiere, and Animate)
- Hands on experience with logo design, typography, color, web layout design, print production, image selection and package design
- Proficient use of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design and wire-framing tools
- Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
- Incorporate feedback and take/give direction well
- Team player with strong communication and presentation skills
- Relevant education or training
