Summary

This position is the In-Process Quality Engineer (IPQE), who is responsible for general quality process control for frontend (PCBA - Printed Circuit Board Assemblies) manufacturing for Site-1 operations, reporting to IPQE Manager.

The candidate shall be familiar with typical PCBA manufacturing process control, including SMT & PTH technology, ICT, AOI, X-Ray, Pressfit assembly, as well as the PCBA industrial standard IPC-A-610 as a mandatory.

Also, IPQE shall be familar with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) methodology per ANSI S20.20, as well as ISO9000, TL9000 industrial standards.

As a team member, IPQE shall be responsible for problem verification, and preliminary analysis, and able to work with others on any quality issues from the manufacturing processes, connecting team members altogether, understanding the generic manufacturing philosophy from raw material until finished products.


Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Creates, publishes, controls and constantly improves work instructions/documentation/procedures for the manufacturing process under the responsibilities
  • Initial problem statement identification on any quality issues from the manufacturing processes, follow through the root cause investigation, as well as containment anc corrective actions
  • Determine the Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and identify any related Preventive Actions upon the quality issues found from the manufactuing processes
  • Manufacturing data analysis, including shop floor control data and traceabilities, process parameters, yield and defect/failure rate using statistical tools
  • Organize and perform the periodical process audit per the designated audit plan
  • Organize and perform ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) process audit per the designated audit plan, and align with the industrial ESD standard
  • Understand the fundamental in process quality process control, workmanship standard, quality tools and be able to train the responsible quality technicians and operators
  • Review and monitor any quality data measured from the manufacturing process by daily/weekly/monthly
  • Publish the corresponding quality report to the team, align with the quality target, and be able to initiate/assignaction items to the team members for the improvement
  • Be able to respond on any other ad-hoc requests from the supervisor


Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Working knowledge of engineering concept
  • Knowledge of generic manufacturing process, including 4M, 5-Whys, PDCA philosophy
  • Understanding of documentation processes & quality systems
  • Understanding of ISO standards
  • Understand and be able to apply basic statistical tecniques for data analysis
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in some or all of the following applications: Microsoft Offices, Google Suites
  • Excellent team player with good collaborations skills
  • Understand basic english for daily communications, and willing to enhance english communication skills to higher level
  • Be able to work on shift rotation

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience. Electronic Engineering field would be a plus
