As a Service Owner you will play a crucial role in LSEG’s Global Network Services function by leading and managing technical services using agile services and solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the identifying performance improvements, implementing them and the continuous improvement of their service. The Service Owner will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and product owners to drive the delivery of high-quality products and services that meet the needs of the customers.
Key Responsibilities
Service Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to their team (FLS, SLS, SME & SRE), promoting a culture of agility, collaboration, and continuous improvement. They will be expected to work alongside a scrum master, supporting agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Monitor and track the progress of their team, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality services improvements and remove any obstacles or impediments that may hinder the team's progress.
Service Ownership: Act as a service owner for their team, defining and prioritizing the backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into user stories and acceptance criteria. Adopt a data driven approach to decision making and performance improvement tasks. Responsible for service analysis (Incident, Problem and Change).
Service Recovery: Restoring the functionality and availability of network services that have been disrupted or affected by outages, failures, cyberattacks, or other incidents. This typically involves identifying the root cause of the issue, implementing measures to mitigate the impact, and restoring the services to normal operation to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
Stakeholder Management: Engage with stakeholders, including business leaders, product managers, and other functional teams, to understand their requirements and expectations. Communicate team performance, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
Service Support: Act as an escalation point for their service, ensuring their team provides first class support for the infrastructure, automation, and pipeline products.
Observability: Identify automation opportunities, provide oversight into improved monitoring capabilities, and drive enhanced procedures for robust monitoring practice. Assistance in the strategic direction and process of advanced tooling capabilities. Stakeholder for Observability and Monitoring improvements.
Lifecycle Management: Lead a team responsible for release management into the production environment, governing what testing, monitoring, and checks/balances are performed throughout a product release lifecycle. Responsible for service lifecycle (hygiene) and improvement roadmap
Service Management: Work closely with the Service Manager, Product Owner/Manager, and other stakeholders to define appropriate SLOs and ensuring they are met.
Vendor Management: Work seamlessly with our partners, technology vendors and service providers to deliver outstanding services, results and experiences to NPS and the broader LSEG business.
Requirements
- Experience with product ways of working (product aligned, service focused)
- Experience with network automation, SRE and DevOps
- Experience working in an Agile team, using Scrum & Kanban
- Experience with agile project management tools, including JIRA
- Experience with budget planning and forecasting
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire
