Procurement at Agoda is a strategic global function that drives value across the organization by optimizing supplier partnerships and ensuring efficient use of resources. Within Procurement, the Strategic Sourcing team for Marketing plays a pivotal role in enabling impactful brand campaigns by collaborating with Marketing and sourcing world-class suppliers. Our mission is to support the Marketing Team to deliver creative excellence while maximizing value and efficiency.
The Strategic Sourcing team is at the heart of enabling marketing excellence, working closely with agencies, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to bring bold ideas to life. From creating TV commercials from scratch—including managing contracts with celebrities, media planning, and performance measurement—to sourcing best-in-class suppliers, we ensure that every campaign is both innovative and impactful.

The opportunity

The Procurement Category Specialist will be responsible for Strategic sourcing and Category Strategy execution in Agoda with a focus on Brand Marketing and Performance Marketing related sub-categories. Spend coverage is approximately 250M USD plus. In addition to Marketing (66%) this role will have additional responsibilities in supporting other areas of the business in any Ad-Hoc requests or major procurement initiatives (33%).
The position will report directly to the Senior Manager of Marketing Strategic Sourcing, and also have regular interactions in to the Booking Holdings Global Marketing Category leads.
You will also work directly with our suppliers and agencies across multiple countries, providing you with a global perspective and exposure to diverse markets. You'll also have the chance to be a lead communicator with Directors and C-level executives of our third-party vendors, honing your professional communication and stakeholder management skills.


In this Role, you'll get to

  • Support the Senior Manager of Category Sourcing to develop and implement procurement category strategies across Brand Marketing and Performance Marketing sub-categories to deliver P&L Savings and overall procurement value to Agoda
  • Work with our vendors globally and drive major savings initiatives through sourcing, demand management and process optimization
  • Analyze third-party spend and market data to craft negotiation strategies
  • Conduct detailed spend analysis and bench-marking, evaluate market and competitive conditions and use as a basis to create data based Category strategies and sourcing activities
  • Cultivate close relationships with business partners to support their objectives and the company growth agenda
  • Actively participate in the implementation of Procurement best-in-market processes and tools
  • Support other categories on an Ad-Hoc basis or major projects basis in terms of Procurement process and competitive tendering


What you'll Need to Succeed:

  • Minimum 5 years of total experience in related field and 3 years of experience in marketing and/or procurement. Deep knowledge of strategic sourcing methodology, category management, procure-to-pay processes and tools and supplier management
  • Strong knowledge in Marketing and experience in negotiating contracts
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to substantiate Category strategies and value propositions. Experience in spend analysis, market and benchmark analysis at a broad level.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparing and delivering presentations
  • Strategic thinker yet focused on execution; able to roll up sleeves to get things done
  • Able to function in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment
  • Good cultural and organizational sensitivity

  • Bangkok Based, no relocation support provided.
