The Opportunity:
Agoda is seeking a solution-oriented Fintech Specialist Counsel with international mindset and a strong sense of intercultural understanding to join our innovative Fintech Legal Team.
If you are someone who is into/keen to understand payments and Fintech products in the e-commerce universe, this is a great opportunity for you.
In this role, you will be involved in maturing the Fintech products and payments in Agoda (and other brands managed by Agoda) to build the best-in-class payments. You will be exposed to complex projects, payments contracting set-up, Fintech products set-up or enhancement, and you will have the opportunity to collaborate with various teams in Agoda to strengthen your Fintech expertise.
This position offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the dynamic FinTech industry based in the vibrant city of Bangkok. Relocationwill be provided for successful candidates.
What you'll get to do:
- Directly support and collaborate with the Principal Counsel, FinTech Legal, in solving legal challenges, defining recommended approach for the commercial stakeholders, and providing strategic legal guidance to enable compliant delivery of Agoda's FinTech/Payments-related products.
- Collaborate with Fintech Legal Team and other teams in various departments to contribute to projects delivery.
- Assist Fintech team with any legal tasks assigned.
- Reviewing, negotiating, and advising Fintech commercial team in relation to the contracting works with payment services providers or other financial services products provider.
- Document processes and decisions in knowledge repositories, frameworks, and policies.
- Ensure compliance of Agoda's global payment collections such as contribute to front-end, and horizons scanning, and propose risk mitigation steps.
- Develop and maintain best practices in standard contract templates and Fintech product terms and conditions.
What you'll need to succeed:
- 3 – 4 years of experience in M&A transactions or regulated sectors (financial services and/or banking sectors) in an international environment. Having experience in Fintech and Payment is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in law from accredited universities. Having US laws background is an advantage.
- Strong project management skills and comfortable with handling multiple tasks.
- Proactive, hands-on attitude, well-organized, with excellent writing and articulation skills.
- Creative thinker with problem-solving abilities, and eagerness to learn and grow as an individual contributor.
- Experience in advisory, research, and operationalizing financial licenses.
- Passion for e-commerce, FinTech and payments.
- Relocation is provided, with a preference for candidates based in Bangkok. Singaporean residents may remain in Singapore.
